The Agricultural sector in Kenya (crop production, livestock and fisheries) has continued to be critical and significant in the Kenyan Economy. It represents about 24% of National GDP, 18% of wage employment and 50% of revenue from exports. Agriculture is also a key provider of employment and livelihoods for the Kenyan population and therefore contributes to the reduction of poverty. The Ennova II Ideation Challenge sought to bridge the gaps that exist in the agricultural sector in regard to data and technology.
